ECAC Esports is proud to announce our new partnership with the Collegiate Corestrike League (CCL), beginning on June 1, 2024.
This partnership will combine the ECAC’s Omega Strikers competition into the Collegiate Corestrike League ushering in a new era of collegiate Omega Strikers. This collaboration will solidify the CCL’s status as the premier Collegiate Omega Strikers League in North America.
Effective Fall 2024, all ECAC Omega Strikers teams will transition to compete with the esteemed teams of the CCL, amplifying the league’s scope and influence across campuses nationwide. Notably, participation in either league remains optional for member schools, preserving autonomy while fostering collaborative growth opportunities.
In addition to this partnership, the ECAC is allowed to expand its member schools to any interested parties from the CCL as well as allow the CCL to expand their pool of schools to any interested in their Omega Strikers competition. Leveraging this partnership, the CCL will be allowed to host LANs and other Omega Strikers competitions at select ECAC-run events, amplifying the thrill and camaraderie of live esports experiences.
“We are honored to partner with the CCL. They are pioneers for Omega Strikers Esports in the collegiate space,” said Lydia Fister, Assistant Commissioner & Director of Esports at the ECAC. “We look forward to supporting their innovative league!”
“This partnership makes the Collegiate Corestrike League the biggest collegiate Omega Strikers League in the country, as well as gives us the potential to host more LANs than any other tournament organizer in Omega Strikers,” said Dylan Winn, Production Head of the CCL. “Collegiate competition is the backbone of Omega Strikers Esports, and we’re very excited to bring ECAC Esports along for the ride.”
“I’m looking forward to the new opportunities that this partnership can provide for both parties and for the continued growth of Omega Strikers.” said Tavin Matiszik, Co-Founder of the CCL.
While ECAC Esports and the Collegiate Corestrike League will continue to maintain separate identities, this strategic partnership serves as a catalyst for mutual growth and innovation. Together, we hope to cultivate vibrant communities and empower aspiring esports athletes on campuses nationwide.
In a reaffirmation of inclusivity, it’s important to note that participation in the ECAC does not necessitate membership in the CCL, and conversely, affiliation with the ECAC is not obligatory for engagement in the CCL.
