DANBURY, CT – ECAC Esports has officially kicked off its Fall 2020 season, this year with 77 universities participating, extending the conference from coast to coast. Fall competition will involve 289 teams and over 2,000 student athletes competing across 8 games powered by LeagueSpot – Overwatch, Hearthstone, VALORANT, Rocket League, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, FIFA 20, and Madden 21. Registration will remain open until October 2nd for Madden 21 and FIFA.

For the first time this year in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic, traditional athletic teams will be squaring off against each other in esports competition – more details on that to come soon.

The ECAC is thrilled to welcome 19 new members to the esports family this season.

Additionally, the ECAC Esports National Championship Invitational and HV Gamer Con 2020 will take place virtually, on October 17th and 18th. The tournament will be streamed live on ECAC Esports Twitch channels: twitch.tv/ecac_esports, twitch.tv/ecac_esports, twitch.tv/ecac_esports, and twitch.tv/esportsunetwork. This event will showcase the best collegiate esports teams in Overwatch, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. HV Gamer Con 2020 will also include for the first time, through the ECAC’s partnership with the NFL Alumni organization, an exciting event with former NFL stars competing, coaching, and shout casting alongside teams and players.
